Workshops I deliver

  • 1 day build an MVP

    For a group of up to 25 students, we run through a series of 3 mini-blocks:

    1. Ideation

    2. Validating your idea

    3. Building an MVP

  • 1 day 'think it' exercise

    For a group of up to 20 students, we run through a real-life struggle of growing a company where I facilitate and teach strategic decision making. Examples of previous workshops include:
    1. What would you do: Launching Revolut to a new market
    2. On the brink of covid: How do you pivot your company?

  • 3 day launch it program

    For a group of 30 students, over 3 days and with several mentors, we teach students how to launch a business from scratch. Similar to a hackathon, but where no technical expertise is required.

How students have implemented their learnings

For most students, the key product methodologies learnt in the workshops are what they go on to use in their interview practices and workplaces. Some students, decide to team together and build a business, and go on to apply for competitions such as the London Mayors Competition.

Our best success story yet is Hi-Lo, a company that began at the 3-day ‘launch it’ workshop, and went on to get an investment of £40,000 to build their MVP and test out new customer segments.

Why use Yasmin Desai for your workshops?

Passion

When I was at university, I felt like a black sheep being one of very few students who didn’t want to go into the corporate world. I desperately wanted to learn skills about building a business and understanding what was needed to work for a tech start-up. I run these workshops to introduce the real-life entrepreneurial and problem solving skills that students will need in the workplace.

Product

As a Product Manager, every workshop I run introduces the fundamentals of product management at heart. An idea can’t be successful without the execution of a good product strategy, so as well as teaching entrepreneurial skills, I ensure that students come away learning key product management principles.

Background

With a background in operations and product, working for fast growth scale ups like Revolut and Wayflyer, my unique experiences means I can bring what I’ve learnt in the workplace to my workshops.
